So what is your favorite season in farming? Or in general? Maybe this is harder for those in a warm climate where the season isn't as dramatic as us in the northern climates, but still seasons in farming.
I think spring is my favorite season, starting fresh with lots of hope and optimism, lots of daylight, cold weather is over mostly. And weirdly I'd have to say harvest is my least favorite season. Lots of irons in the fire and people to keep track of, endless dust, always trying to beat weather, etc. I'm always glad when the fields are stubble again.
Poll added, you can pick two choices.

Spring def the fav, I hate winter so its being left behind, the days are getting longer which really seems to be a real pick me up mentally as I hate them short and working so much in the dark, and of course its warming up. Things all reset, new babies, new growth, I always notice things like the first dandelion and more. I suppose summer would be second, I don't mind being busy. But even now, 20 after ten and already dark, that sucks, I already miss not being able to keep going till 11 lol. Gots to remember, I'm far enough north, we get the extra daylight, even more so as you go further north. This area around Athabasca is called Land of the Midnight Twilight for a reason lol. Fall is almost depressing really, days are getting short, weather going in the tank and no matter how hard I try, always things not done before ground freezes and the winter asphalt is in place. That stresses me more than anything I suppose. And winter just simply sucks, I hate the snow and cold, not that it is hard for me to deal with, but for the animals and more, makes caring for them much more intense than would be otherwise.

In general winter is my favorite. Very low stress. It doesn't really matter what the weather does and you don't have to work evenings most of the time. But when it comes to farming I would say spring as well because everything is at its max potential. I do like fall in the sense it brings closure to all your hard work whether for good or ill. Summer is the most stressful as either you watch your crop burn up (this year) or watch it struggle through cold and water. Spray season is also a stressful part of summer as the weather never seems to cooperate. In the end every season has its positives and I would hate to live where there was less distinctions in the seasons. The Canadian prairies do seasons the best.

Spring is probably, but generally spring, summer and fall are all enjoyable for me. Winter sucks. I hate winter.

I like them all for different reasons.
My least favourite would be the transition between fall and winter and winter and spring where the weather can’t decide what it should do.

Another vote for spring. Same reasons as above; everything showing new life and potential, and leaving the potential dangers of the cold behind.

Spring is nice. Always like to see the first patch of bare ground, the new calves, and my favorite color is green. But I'd have to say fall is my favorite season. For one it's hunting season, the fall colors are fantastic, the bugless days, it's hunting season, and the fish are bigger and tasty, and oh, did I mention it's hunting season? Ha.

Used to hate winter when I was younger as it meant being gone to work, cold and miserable etc. Couldn’t wait for spring to come so we could get at er. Now as I’m older I find it to be pretty much the opposite. Being responsible for everything now and having all the pressures of the busy season financially and time crunches, equipment problems, weather etc. I find takes its toll and I look forward to freeze up. Pressure is off and feels like a guy can breathe for a bit. More time with the kids. Still not a fan of the cold and fighting with stuff getting froze up and much prefer warm weather for all that. I guess from a point of mental health I prefer winter haha.

I am similar to Meskie, like them all. spring for the optimism that new season brings, Summer for the time at the lake with friends, fall for the smell of harvest and the colors, winter for snowmobiling.
I hate the spring thaw - mud, ice, ruts in the road, etc.

I like every season, I like change so when it moves from one season to the next, it's like a fresh start. I even like the -40 days as it usually means a break from the usual days and a chance to relax and enjoy the time and not feel like I should be doing something. I should add, I don't have livestock aside from a few chickens, but do have to work in it occasionally. I have hobbies for every season, so never have an excuse to not be doing something. My least favorite is when one season shows up in the wrong season and makes a mess of things!
