I am with Itk, kubota diesel. Previously had a Chinese sxs was actually pretty good. Drove like a car and had a decent amount of power. Bad part was getting parts, broke a cv shaft and had to wait like 2 months. If it wasn't a work machine I would have kept it since I only paid 5k or so for it. On another note, what are guys running for rubber? Trying to find a heavy capacity tire for at least the backs. Seems I only get a year or so before the sidewall fails.

Do I dare ask what you are hauling with your side by side? I have only had mine for a couple months, so not much experience, but maybe you need more air in the tires.

What options do you feel you cant do without on your side by side. I am not talking a loaded up northstar edition ranger. I would have to trade my new dodge ram pickup plus some cash to boot for one of those atvs.lol
Wondered are half doors a pain in the neck? lots of options on the side by side are cool to get , but what do you really need?

Windshield is nice to have if you don't go for a full cab. No doors unless full cab too. Not sure what other options are available to choose from. Full diff locks too.

Wondered are half doors a pain in the neck? My Kubota came with half doors. First thing I did when i got it home was take them off.

I really like my half doors on my ranger. Way better then the mesh nets that it came with. If it was just around the farm none would be better but kids and I like to tour around on it.
Power steering would be a must for me A roof and a half windshield are also nice.

Neighbor encouraged me to get power steering and I'm happy I did. Mine came with the half doors and I thought they would be a big nuisance, but enjoying them. Make sure there is some kind of lift for the box, either air shock assist (which I have and works well) or some other lifting mechanism. "Turf mode" also important so you won't chew up the yard when turning. Mine came with deeper lug tires. With factory tires this might not be an issue.

Not to hijack this thread, but do those of you with the full cab ones find they get dusty inside the cabs? Dad got a Textron, same company that now brands them as Arctic Cat, this spring, it seems all right but it gets really dusty in the cab. We have been trying to seal it off and it's getting better, just wondered if they were all like that? Think part of the problem is it has a full front windshield that you can't open at all, we're going to try get one that opens up and see if that helps by letting air in and sort of pressurizing the cab somewhat, I think the way it is it just draws dust up into the cab.
First side by side I have had anything to do with so can't compare to others. The single wheel drive option is nice, as is power steering, his has a heater as well. Just has a smaller box which is fine as it's more just for fun. A little noisy, maybe the same as others, I don't know.

My brother had bought a new Ranger 900 about 4 years ago and had the half doors, bucket seats and the engine braking style of clutch installed, winch etc. Then he put in a full windshield for the obvious reasons of weather and wind protection and it already had the rear window. Dust just sucked in like crazy, I mean god awful to just go across a field even at a more sedate speed and not great on the gravel road either. So then put in a windshield that could kick out at the bottom and while that helped some, it rattled around on anything but very smooth going. He tried plugging off holes in the doors and so on ( no upper portion to those doors ) but in the end he was not thrilled with what was going on and it hardly got used and he sold it. I know that may sound odd but after choking on dirt and having a chemical rep ride with him and both black in the face with dirt, he went back to riding his quad. Perhaps a full cab and air conditioning is the way to go ... its called a Jeep. In some ways a half windshield is better due to that and resigning to wearing a helmet with a shield. That was his experience anyway and just never realized until he got one that it would turn into the inside of a vacuum cleaner in the cab. It was pretty nice to drive though, not bad power and speed and it had power steering which is a must to make it easy to drive. The new owners were thrilled as they got a steal of a deal and mounted a seat in the box for their teenage children and went cruising around on trails getting dirty as it was a bush trail toy to them for pure recreation.

I haven’t had any trouble with dust in mine. I have half doors a back window and a full front windshield . I also switch out to a half windshield for warmer weather. Haven’t found any combo that gets real dusty inside at all. I go down gravel roads Dirt roads and across fields At varying speeds. My half doors have the rubber weather stripping around them and they seal pretty good. I can drive through water and it won’t leak in the door.
The salesman told me that they did change a few things on the ranger to keep the dust out better. Mine is a 2020 so maybe that’s it.

That is interesting to hear, I believe my brothers was a 2016 and was a carry over in their inventory. The doors at that time actually had sizable so called vent holes right through the door and covering them didn't solve the issue but helped a bit. There was no seal around the door on that model.

Kubota diesel fun factor is 0, so gutless. There useless off hard packed gravel road/yard. Loaded cab with AC and heat is awesome. That’s my one brand review.

I'd go half windshield if you don't have a full cab. If you have a full windshield and no doors/rear windshield the dust swirls in your face the whole time. It really sucks.

Hey Oatking, did you buy a side by side? Just curious what you decided to go with. I know someone mentioned that used ones are hard to find. There are some listed here in Alberta on kijiji. Haven't seen any deals lately, but there are some for sale.
