Boy I don't know kevlar, one may show up on his yard. The amount of women in ag anymore is climbing. The amount of gals I do business with or work with anymore equals guys. And they are good looking. Side note, when I was getting a new field advisor for my pigs I told the gal in charge of hiring I want a hot blond with big tits (her and I go way back). I ended up with a 6' 350 lbs bald guy. A bit off. She may have gotten you exactly what you asked for. Maybe he was blonde before he went bald, and a guy that size would always be hot and likely have tits!!😂

I met my wife through some mutual friends she went to university with. I gave her a call a few days after being introduced and haven't looked back. Funny thing is she was the "city" girl and I was the farmer. Now she's more of a farmer in some ways then I am.

Met mine doing the internet thing and that was about 12 years ago now. Was divorced with a couple young boys at the time. She grew up in Winnipeg and had been in Regina since her college days so had nothing to do with a farm background but likes being out here and likes to help. Lots of good people out there, just have to meet them. What seemed most noteworthy in hindsight was first time we met in person we met at a little restaurant and I waited for her in the lobby to arrive, we then sat down for a meal and about 3 hours later we both noticed the restaurant had pretty much emptied out. Was totally clueless about things going on around us while talking about various things.

Church functions are also a good way of meeting people. Having similar interests and way of thinking is very important. Like others have mentioned, social events are good places to meet. Met my wife through mutual friends. I am happily married, but I'd rather be single than in a lousy relationship. Seen a few of those.

I travelled all over the country racing wagons with the family all my young life. Had been out of it for some time and met my wife at a race as a spectator and resident of the beer gardens. Now I hardly ever go to a race.

but I'd rather be single than in a lousy relationship. Seen a few of those. That's for sure. Guy around here is married to a manipulative, dingy, screwball bitch. Sometimes your better off with half your stuff and an ex.

Thanks for the replies! Certainly some good stories there.
My hobbies are a bit non-existent, so I have been reading the recreation thread with interest. Anything involving snow and ice is a bit difficult to do here in Australia though, and I'm a very long way from any lakes. Interesting to see what you get up to on the other side of the world though.
I did have a go at the internet scene back a while ago, without a lot of luck. One thing I found was that eventually you see people you know on there, and when their description is vastly different from reality it can be a bit off-putting when reading the profiles of the others. It has recently dawned on me though, that people telling lies happens in the real world too, so perhaps this should not be a reason to avoid it.
Yes the amount of girls working for agricultural companies is certainly increasing these days, but it can be pretty difficult to swing a conversation from politely inquiring about their products to taking the next step.
I fully agree that you are better off with nobody than having the wrong person. One thing that I have noticed though, is that in the cases where it hasn't worked out for other couples, often one of them has turned into a different person than they were originally. So it's pretty difficult to predict how things will go long term.

Nothing ventured. Nothing gained. Who says you got to pick the first one. Lots of good people out there.

I met mine at the bar in town here. Then I proposed in the same place. I suggested getting married there too but that's where she drew the line. lol
