Anyone that owns one knows of the clutch rattle in these machines from new. The tractor is such a good tractor and most used hands down from running rock picker, augers, bagger, extractor, snowblower, moving bales, loading my outdoor bale boiler daily, pulling the valmar avadexing, and loader work. My only 2 complaints were it was too light on the back end which I resolved with filling tires with fluid and this annoying rattle at lower rpm's especially. It has gotten slightly worse at 2000 hrs now but have just gotten used to it. Never have I had such an easy tractor to use on a swing auger. Open passenger door and turn the key from standing on the ground and throttle and pto engagement right there as well. My 13 yr old can do it with ease even from the ground. I looked at a Case with fender buttons before buying this one to start the pto, but after owning this thing it really isn't needed at all. Does or has anyone gotten this tractor rattle fixed by replacing the damper or clutch with something else?

What is rattling exactly? Does that tractor have a dry clutch on it?

Well I was on the phone with a dealer yesterday. Apparently they have did one a while back. Some of these early models had a center disc and flywheel different than the newer M models. They were prone to rattling after a few hundred hrs. A new flywheel and clutch parts for $2700 and $2000 labor and it can be fixed. The rattling doesn't hurt anything just gets annoying with low rpm work. So at least I know it can be remedied it's just how bad do I want the noise to disappear money wise.
