It's one of the best lol. Can't have a forum with no Massey owners lol. Anyway I found my way to this forum finally, and as much as you Deere guys like the skin cream and lip balm, us lonely Massey guys will be here with our man hands lol.

I looked back down the current topics list just now in the old forum and wow, some other dude is pushing his flavor of lotion in the John Deere section, l guess that is a face cream of some sort ( never clicked on the link ).
Speaking of Massey though since you've started a Massey thread, I have two Massey tractors dating back to my dads era. A gas engine 65 which I believe is an early 1960's model and then a Massey Harris 33 which I am guessing is around 1950. The problem with older tractors like that is getting parts or finding those that know anything about them as that becomes the issue with any older pieces of equipment.

Only massey left is grappas 44 he bought new in 1947. This farm had lots of Massey, not the agco badged stuff. The4880 put a lot of others brands to shame in its day. The weight and balance of that machine required no fluid for traction for the 903. Speaking of that v8 “boat anchor” we had over 11000 hours pulling 40 feet of air seeder and deep tillage with not so much as doing bottom end at 5500 hours for preventative measure. Heck the clutch lasted that many hours too. Guy bought it and put a few bucks into it. Far as I know it’s still going. It was a pig to work on some things and open centre hydraulics limited running newer air carts but it was the cheapest longest lasting machine we ran. It and the 8820 combine stood up to my dads wacky upkeep.

I needed a new steering shaft and the bearings for a Fordson Power Major, they were very pricy used if they could be found. I got a new shaft complete with what I needed out of the UK for about $125 cnd. IDK the name of the supplier but look on google. It is Chinese likely but it never steered so good.

dookiller welcome to the forum, and feel free to talk about Massey or whatever.
I have to admit that when I was looking at used combines over the winter there was a few good looking Massey's that caught my eye. Mostly because they were priced right, but they seem like a nice simple machine with good size grain tank. There is just so few of them in the area and I'm not very familiar with the machine, so ended up staying with what I know.
We did have a Massey Super 98 tractor way back when, pretty sure it's to blame for a lot of hearing loss in my family....man that thing was loud!

Did I read or hear correctly that AGCO is doing away with the Massey combine platform? My only experience with MF was when dad had a 750 many moons ago and recall there was enough room to sleep behind the seat on the ledge. Looked at the newer ones at farms shows and there simplicity does seem to rival the heritage machines from CIH, would be a bit sad to see that era come to an end. There is zero dealer support here for them.

Funny that you mentioned sleeping behind the seat, I spent many hours sleeping behind my grandpa and dad! I would put the auger in/out and on/off. First time my dad let me drive, couldn't wipe the smile off my face!!
