Working on a deal on a new/used tractor to be used as the main seeding drill.
Tractor #1 2019 Xerion 5000. Brand New 30 hours approximately. 75 GPM Hydrualics. No GPS. 710/75R42 duals. 3 year Warranty
Tractor #2 2017 JD 9520RX. 1600 hours. 115 GPM Hydraulics. Includes GPS. no warranty.
The Xerion would be 10-30 grand cheaper. They are essentially equal on horsepower. The claas has the best transmission I've ever used. The claas cab is not luxerious but adequate, but it is super quiet. We also have a claas 4500, I think we could use a few extra ponies. Not the end of the world to have a backup tractor that could pull the drill in a pinch.
Pulling a 66ft BG 10" spacing drill with MRB's. Using the reccomneded hydraulic capacity rates we would have enough hydraulics with the xerion, but not excessive. Our local claas dealer is the fantastic, but so is our JD dealer, so that part is a wash, possibly leaning to the claas side for service. I am sure the xerion could pull the drill easily, as we have easy pulling soils and no hills.
So which tractor would you choose.

If you have a claas already and like it that would be my choice. Don’t think you could go wrong with either

Is the claas plumbed for gps and can hydraulic flow be increased if needed? Cheaper and with warranty pretty much made my decision.

For $10k cheaper I'd be on that Xerion. For $30k cheaper I'd of done it 2 days ago.

If your equally happy with the service at both places I’d go with the better deal. Can’t really comment on either machine as they are much newer than the dinosaurs we run. Haha

Hey Kens , thanks for starting this discussion. Looked at the claas most recent video and wow was i impressed with this tractor. I like the rotation option of the cab and the way it floats over terrain. The steering is really impressive. Reminds me of the old crab steer but better. Really nice cab, maybe a bit smaller than deere but cant complain about it. I like the transmission option and seen some models with a pretty good road speed.
That xerion is a serious contender to the deere. Had to pinch myself to get out of the claas alura! he he he! good stuff though.

Took a short ride in the claas tractor at AIM a few years ago. Was a nice tractor, the small cab was about only downfall I seen. Transmission seemed to work very well, would be great on a grain cart.

Neighbour went to claas from jd and only complaint he has is the ride is rougher on it. I know a couple guys who denied them and they said the same thing the ride wasn’t as nice

Probably the one you didn't see was the drawbar, because you can't see it! Turning radius won't be as good as other tractors either. But the ride and super low noise levels and smooth transmission are quite impressive. I think a nice fuel savings could be had. It won't pull like a quadtrac in the super heavy tillage, so probably similar comparison to a RX Deere, but on a drill/cart/etc I doubt you would have any issue. The Xerion was probably the quietest tractor I have ever used.

Couldn’t see the drawbar on our old 555 versatile with a pto either. So it’s an old problem.

Ha!😄 Could add one, maybe the new ones have them. Other complaint with our RX’s is the hood I stupid heavy to open. And like all deere stuff now hvac fan is right above your head, loud!

Several potato growers have 5000s and use them on their big diggers. They spin the cab around so the operator can keep an eye on the digging and filling trucks. These are very large six-row diggers and require a lot of horsepower and hydraulic flow, so the 5000 is a good match for them.
