Looking for my first 4wd. For my operation one in the neighborhood of 300hp will be more than enough. Anyone have experience with the TJ or STX models in the 275, 280, 300 sizes?
The smaller of the 3 uses the 8.3L engine which I am familiar with, but the 330 uses a 8.9L which I know nothing about. Leaning towards a ps vs std but I don't have a grain cart and am a 1 person operation so in reality this tractor will be put 1 gear and stay there all day. Trying to stay in the 4-5000 hour range or lower, so looking for what to look for at those hours aside from center pins etc.
Have looked at older 9280 / 82 / 84 series NH and the 9250/9350 CNH but it is tough to find something good. Looks like it is easier to find a larger hp unit with those hours, (350+). but that would be overkill for my farm... and a bit higher than the budget I am setting for this purchase. These models are preferred as I have dealers in close proximity.
Thanks

I would stay away from the 275 models because of the CAPS fuel pump on them. Otherwise they are decent tractors and just regular stuff to look at. Check the hydraulic hoses running from the pump to the couplers at the back. Our TJ started having hose issues around the 3-3500 hour mark and couple other guys I know said the same thing.
