Our ca25 adapter did the same thing. I agree that it needs more spline engaged in the roller. Also it would last a lot longer if it was greasable. If it’s an alignment problem you can get shims from macdon to align it better.

There is an update to install on the FD1. A shim I believe. Talk to MacDon, they should warranty it. They looked after mine.

I had the dealer look into getting something from Macdon on the replacement motor and roller. Came up empty handed so far but apparently are still looking into it so.

Can you blokes in NA buy a new shaft & seal kit for this Parker motor? Or, do you have to bend over & just buy a new one!

Never looked cause I needed it right away. If it’s like lots of other hydraulic stuff these days it’s proprietary to macdon so you can’t buy parts separate.

Spoke with a guy that has two FD140's and has done three center canvas drive splines, neighbor did his FD145 the other day. I have two FD75's and now wondering if I should be looking into this area? Mine appear to have a different color motor on the center canvas drive, so possibly it was done already. Should a guy pull apart and grease the splines?

Good chance one has been done. I would teardown the one with the black motor when you have time. I went down two at the same time what a piss off and not cheap I may add. Had to do roller and motor. X2

Shop foreman told us to pull motor and grease splines every year to help them last. Also the FD1 had trouble with motor alignment and there was a shim kit to correct it and help them last longer.

I am currently dealing with the same problem on a FD140! Prevented me from finishing last week. Of course it happened on the Friday evening of a long weekend! And no one local has all the parts required. When we got it apart, the shaft on the motor had zero spline remaining. At first we thought it was a smooth shaft and were looking for a keyway until we realized it was just that worn. I will be looking into the shim kit after harvest. It's not too bad getting the motor out of there, so in the future I will definitely be servicing it every season and inspecting and greasing that spline.

My 2015 fd75 has never been touched. I put a gauge in the block for the last 1000 acres. Would get up to 2000 psi in heavy going. Thinking the motor is getting near the end of its life.
I got a kick out of crude oil haulers that went with hydraulic drive pumps. No greasing they would say. I would tell them that in the Chelsea manual that they are supposed to pull the pump off the pto to grease the splines once a month. They would tell me I’m full of shit. Low and behold with in the first year their pto and pump are fuked.
Would you be able to do what Gleaner did with their hydro drive splines. Drill and tap a plug in. Fill with gear oil

I traded my 2015 off on a 2021 fd140. Maybe I should get them to check that out before I bring it home.

I traded my 2015 off on a 2021 fd140. Maybe I should get them to check that out before I bring it home. It was just on the earlier FD1 headers and didn’t affect them all but wouldn’t hurt to ask and get it checked.
