This fall has been a challenge to get any spraying done. Never ending wind being the biggest issue. Managed to spray 250 acres last Sunday, but had to stop with enough in the sprayer for another 50 acres. Forecast looks terrible with every day just saying windy and the rest of this week has highs of +2/+3 and some lows in the minus double digits. Sounds like next week is even colder. Looks like there will be a small window tomorrow morning to get the tank sprayed out, maybe. Calling for -2 so a very good chance it will actually be colder here and will be some good frost on things when I spray it out, I'm sure the neighbors will think I have slipped a cog! I will keep a record on here to see what the results are. I have done this before but it wasn't quite as cold, and it seemed to work good. Seems every year we finish combining in decent time, October turns for shit and nothing gets done. If I can get this to work, I can stretch out fall spraying until I get the sleds out of the shed! lol Not expecting great results, but need the sprayer empty, oh well.

I've read of quite a few people spraying late fall in cold weather and it's always had a noticeable effect in the spring. I've cleaned out my sprayer while the snow was falling before and I could see in the spring the line where I sprayed out what was left in the tank. Sometimes I've sprayed where I didn't think there was any weeds at all growing, and next spring I could see clear as day where I sprayed as it was still clean, but everywhere else was getting early spring weeds going. so I say go for it.

High clearance got rinsed and drained yesterday, just need to run antifeeze through. Had some RU and express in it. Sprayed it out on some sow and other various weeds. I am confident it will make a difference come spring. The interesting one will be my little rtv loaded with lontrel. Gonna try it on some dandelions in the lawn and and a thistle patch.

You won't regret spraying late with glyphosate. You are probably throwing your money away if you add Express to it and spraying in extreme cold.

Yeah, most guys that I've worked with that have sprayed into the cold and with even a skiff of snow melting on the ground have all stuck with the opinion it made a big difference come spring. That being said, probably only applies to glyphosate versus anything like that needs some heat like Liberty/etc.
