We have some fields that are rough from years of being wet. Just wondering what guys are using to work whole fields to level the fields out. Not sure if we need a high speed disc/VT or just go old school and get a deep tillage.

With the amount of moisture we had all summer and the way it dried up this fall VT wouldn't do a damn thing to the sprayer ruts. Old school tillage for this area.

I’m too poor for a fancy high speed disc machine but all joking aside being done harvest at a decent time will use the deep tillage with spikes and fix a few spots and harrow after. Any flooded spots with lots of trash we’ll disk.

A Kelly disc chain works well for leveling. (Soil type dependent)

I use a deep tillage with 8 inch shovels for fall work, or switch to 2 inch spikes if the ground is dry and hard and you need better penetration.
