Another good song from Kid Rock. There was one or two in the other thread that I liked.
A couple old one here that crossed my mind.

Trying to remember what I put on the old site. I enjoy threads like these, sit back and forget about the world-not now but soon. That is my plan, but we all know how that goes lol.

Seen mention of this one this morning on Twitter, 40 years ago today it was number one. Wasn't a song I had even heard before, but I saw the video sitting in a bar back in the day and never forgot it and ever time I heard the song after always thought of sitting there watching it that time. Interesting how things have changed, never mind the technology with animation and more, but surprising the SJWs and cancel culture aren't all over this one, given some of the lyrics, surprising Youtube even allows it....

Born Free may have been the Kid Rock one. Got a different opinion of the guy anyway. Was looking at some of his other stuff the other day. Hard to beleive that Dire Straights song is that old. Brother in Arms is a good song off that album too. Juice Newton is one that goes back 40 years too, Angel of the Morning seems like it was on the radio just 20 years ago.
Felt the urge to throw a little Neil on the other day while it was raining.

Anyway, I am sure I have posted this on the old site. Love this cover.

Van Zandt hit on something I could listen to.
Regarding Kid Rock, the easiest answer is I simply dismissed him as some poser or another gimmick act brought forward. Can't remember his early songs anymore, but then Picture was put on country music radio and it was - "here we go again, another rock/pop/top 40 act passed off as country". So cared even less about what he had for music. But now I see he does a lot of music that falls squarely into country or whatever we call country these days. I ultimately like to find music I can throw on the stereo and really listen to. So it is usually softer, laid back music and the quality of the recording or just a few choice notes at the right time will catch my attention and so I will listen to that song or artist more often. I simply would not have put Kid Rock in that category. Kind of like Sarah McLachlan, I really disliked what I heard on the radio for the first 10 years, then her fourth or fifth album was out and already old, and I bought it and really started to listen and found I liked some of it. Some of her music I really dislike, which is not normal. Usually I like an artists style overall, with Sarah I need the remote with skip function nearby. But if I was to sit down and listen for a bit, I could put these 3 songs in a row. Assuming the recording is well done. Van Zandt I am listening to on the tablet so don't know if I would really listen to it, often a simple vocal and guitar can sound far more intriguing when played on a stereo. Would have to try it to find out but not set up yet to do it. Nead a music streamer.
