Going to the bank I was made to put on a mask they handed me with tongs as otherwise there was no going in and again it was just fine going in there not long ago as they had their idiotic plastic windows set up but not now as that isn't good enough.
Was it your breath? LOL!

Ya, just think, a year ago, if you walked into a bank with a mask, you would have been arrested. Now you enter a bank without a mask, you could be arrested!

LOL! Yeah, but that started before covid. They may be trying to tell you something! Oh like maybe next time I go to the bank be wearing a black ski mask, jacket and pants to match and mumble at the counter as I slide a blank piece of paper to her under the pathetic plastic screen.

I had a small outdoor rink last year for the first time, about 30x50. Shovel the snow and garden hose for water. Don’t need anything special to make it smooth enough. Kids had hours of fun out there, it was fun for all. Yep, you don't need a fancy zamboni to maintain good outdoor ice. I used a garden hose on a hose reel. That way, it was easy to just carry it inside and not worry about freezing. If you can plumb hot water to your outdoor faucet, it makes flooding easy. A quick coating of hot water takes care of lots of the snow residue and little bits of ice that stay behind after scraping. Also, giving it a scrape after skating on it saves on having to flood as often.

I had a friend that used to tie just a regular iron for ironing clothes to a stick and plug it in and smooth out the ice he had for his kids, said it was fast and made it as smooth as glass. A bigger ice surface might take a couple or three guys going at it, but that might be an option. I never tried it yet, not sure if I will make any ice this year, we have to haul our water so it's not real convenient, we put in outdoor ice at our curling rink and it's only 3 miles away, that might be easier.

Sounds like your friend didn't just watch the Red Green show but took some pointers, I'll bet he even used duct tape to fasten the iron to the hockey stick LOL.

My buddy plays in a beer league and said they also extended the blue line to the center ice red line to increase social distancing. He said there is plenty of room to set up the power play now. Hope that rule is not introduced into the big leagues! The scourge is ruining the game!

Apparently they are also considering 4 on 4 with no faceoffs! ? Maybe they should go with a sponge puck, just helmet/gloves and play in backyard rinks . Save a lot of money, considering they likely won't be allowed paying fans in the stands anyway.

Was going to look at a air seeder in Saskatchewan tomorrow, but will put it off for a few days now with all this crap going on in Manitoba now, under a "code orange", not even sure if we can leave the province? Does anyone know?

Kevlar I think you are okay to go to SK. Even in spring when things were totally shut down Ag is essential and traffic was moving. I think the prairies and Northern Ontario are good to go, beyond that I'm not sure if you would have to quarantine or not.

Having to quarantine would be my biggest concern, come home and find out I have to be locked up for two weeks. Deer season starts next week. I wouldn't be the nicest person in the world if I had to sit at home and drink by myself for 2 weeks and miss drinking at the shack for 2 weeks! Beer and rum tastes better at the shack!!!
Also wonder if going to look at a piece of equipment is considered essential?
Either way, getting very sick of this. Still seems to be a lot of people wanting to be shut down until this is "over". Still not sure what "over" is in their mind. If they think everyone staying home will make it vanish, they are sadly mistaken. Find it's getting frustrating to try talk common sense to people. Some of the people saying that everyone should stay home and not go out at all, then in their next breath say they are going shopping and visiting friends. Some need to look up the term "hypocrite".

I would go Kevlar. The shack seems a good place to isolate anyhow . From your Manitoba health. Non-essential travel outside of Manitoba is strongly discouraged. Individuals who travelled internationally or domestically (east of Terrace Bay, ON) must go into mandatory self-isolation (quarantine) for 14 days from the date of arrival to Manitoba. Additional guidance and exemptions to self-isolation for travellers.
